Project Detail

Assistive technology (AT) enables persons with disabilities to improve functions and live more independently at home and in the community, also helps to relieve carer's stress and burden.  In this programme, an Occupational Therapist (OT) will visit community centres, interviewing service users and / or their carers, to explore their needs and usage of AT products, and provide educational talks on different AT topics with demonstration of AT devices for daily activities, including mobility aids, cognitive aids and self-care aids.  Frontline staff in community services will also benefit from staff training workshops, to strengthen their knowledge about up-to-date AT products and skills of using these devices.
