The Community Chest 2018/2019 Corporate and Employee Contribution Programme (CECP) Raises Over HK$157 Million To Help People In Need

With the support from 680 companies, organisations and government departments, CECP has raised over HK$157 million in the campaign year 2018/2019. All donation raised were passed on in full to the Chest’s 163 member social welfare agencies, with no deduction for administrative expenses, to help more than 2.5 million people in need in Hong Kong.
 
At the CECP Cheque and Award Presentation Ceremony on 20 May 2019, Mr Vernon Moore, BBS, CECP Organising Committee Chairman and his Co-Chairmen paid tribute to corporate donors with outstanding contributions.
 
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited raised over HK$14 million and won the “Magnificent Award” for the 18th consecutive year. With the support of staff and the dollar-to-dollar matching donation by the Hongkong Bank Foundation, the Bank was also the Top Donor of “Green Day”, “Love Teeth Day”, “Skip Lunch Day” and Top Fund-raiser of the “Employee Contribution Programme”.
 
Ding Kuen Charity Fund won the “Magnificent Award” with a donation of HK$6.7 million. The Jardine Matheson Group, Maxim’s Group, The S H Ho Foundation Limited and Wharf Real Estate Investment Company Limited each received the “Distinguished Award”.
 
In addition, employees from around 520 organisations helped raise over HK$11 million. The Top Three Donors of “Employee Contribution Programme” were: The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Citi and The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited respectively. Citi’s “Rainbow Day” raised over HK$1.1 million and the company was presented with “Highest Donation Award” in Donation Drive. Employees from The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited received “Highest Donation Award” for their charity efforts through “CARE Scheme”.
