Peer Support Programme

The Peer Support Programme adopts the "volunteer peer support" approach to empower patients who are newly discharged from the hospital and going through active rehabilitation.  The newly discharged patients are expected to learn from the peer supporters (i.e. the veteran patients) to overcome the barriers of health challenges during the process of rehabilitation.  For the peer supporters, they can reconstruct life meaning and a sense of self-worth through helping others.  The spirit of self-help, mutual support as well as the core values of mutuality, altruism, and volunteerism, can be fostered in society.
