Project Detail

The "Cradle Harbour" project helps infants aged 0-3 whom are hospitalised due to non-accidental injuries (such as parental abuse or neglect), and are transitioning into residential care home facilities.  Hospital play supports these vulnerable infants to mitigate the negative consequences of abuse, neglect and usually prolonged hospitalisation by providing age-appropriate developmental stimulation, promoting cognitive, language, motor development and a sense of security.  In this pioneering endeavour in medical-social collaboration, Hospital Play Specialists collaborate with Caritas Medical Centre and Children's Residential Home to establish a holistic and comprehensive transition pathway from hospital care to residential home care.
