2017-09-27
The 2017 event was launched on 22 September at The Penthouse, Hang Seng Bank Headquarters and officiated at by the Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSARG The Honourable Mr Matthew Cheung, GBM, GBS, JP in the company of Campaign Committee Co-Chairmen Dr Dennis Sun, BBS, JP and Mr Lawrence Yu, SBS, MBE, JP; Dress Casual Day Organising Committee Chairman Mr Donald Lam, Co-Chairman Mr Benny Wong and local band Supper Moment.

First launched in 1993, Dress Casual Day has grown to be a popular fund-raising event. For students, office executives and other participants, it turns an ordinary school/working day into a meaningful one. This year, the theme of #WEARIAM encourages participants to express their personal style. The Chest has partnered with local illustrator Ms Stella So who drew casual-wear sketches to promote the event, and local band Supper Moment who will visit some organisations and schools. Our social media partner Facebook will support the event by sharing live newsfeed on their official page. The theme #WEARIAM has also been captured in the promotional videos to bring home the message that the Chest is counting on the generosity of every citizen to raise funds.

All funds raised will be allocated to 161 member social welfare agencies to help over 2 millions of people in need. In 2016, this event has raised over HK$19.5 million.

Individual participants can enroll with a minimum donation of HK$60. For students, there is no minimum donation amount and they should enroll through their schools. For details, please visit the Dress Casual Day webpage at app.commchest.org/event/DCD2017/tc/ and download application forms or contact the Chest at 2599 6111.
