The Community Chest Wine for Millions was held on 23 March 2019 (Saturday) at Hong Kong’s new cultural landmark – Xiqu Centre of the West Kowloon Cultural District. The evening brought in HK$7.4 million to support social services provided by the Chest’s 163 member agencies.

 

Officiating the event was The Honourable Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, GBM, GBS, JP, Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Campaign Committee Co-Chairman Mr Paulo Pong thanked the sponsors of the event, including wine sponsors, Château Lafite Rothschild and Altaya Group; venue sponsor West Kowloon Cultural District and catering sponsor Miramar Group. He also expressed his appreciation to Event Committee Co-Chairmen Mr Stanley Sun and Mr Lucian Yu for their support over the years.

 

To make it a special evening, guests were treated to a pre-dinner performance of Cantonese opera at the Tea House Theatre of Xiqu Centre. All guests enjoyed fine vintages, nicely paired with gourmet cuisine, all for a good cause. The Chest would also like to thank well-known entertainer Mr Natalis Chan for presiding over the auction to bring in more donations.
